Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder!

At least that is our hope! It's been quite a while since my last update. We've been making a few more updates around the hotel after the new flat-screen TV's - our front desk and accounting operating systems have been upgraded to better serve our guests as well.

It's hard to believe that the holiday season is up on us once more and Thanksgiving is just a little over 2 weeks away! We're having our annual Thanksgiving Brunch this year from 11am-4pm. Feast your eyes on our enticing menu:

New Flat Screen TV's

As of today, our Engineering staff began installing our new Philips 37" flat screen TVs into all of our guest rooms! They hope to complete installation in 3 floors per day. We should have them in every single guest room by the 2nd week of September, and boy do they look fantastic!

51st Annual Chicago Air & Water Show!

This weekend marks the 51st Chicago Air & Water Show. Hyatt Regency McCormick Place always enjoys being one of the sponsors as well as the exclusive caterer for all of the VIP tents at North Beach. It's always a long week for our staff as we prepare to cater for the thousands of people on the beach while maintaining a sold out weekend back at the hotel! Thanks to everyone for their hard work!
For guests, complimentary trolley shuttles run on the hour every hour from McCormick Place Square to North Beach all weekend for the show.

From Tweet Ups to Upgrades!

It's been a great summer so far at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place! From our Dog Day Sunday Afternoons to our Jazz Thursdays, not to mention all of our great Summer Packages; Game Day, Summer Escape, Festival, and Road Trip, among others. This week we are sold out nearly every night thanks to Venetian Night, NACA's "Save the Dream" Tour, and the 46th annual IPA Congress. The 51st annual Chicago Air & Water Show is also just a couple weeks away! We're happy to be keeping busy down here at McCormick Place!

I just registered for Mashable's Chicago leg of the #Hyatt4Good Charity Tweet Up Tour taking place at our sister property, @HyattChicago next Tuesday, August 4th. What a fantastic idea for Hyatt to play host and partner with Mashable's charity tour. I can't wait to attend! You can register for the event here in Chicago or any of the tour's other locations here.

I also have some other very exciting news to share! The hotel's ownership has approved our proposal for a new Internet provider which will include wireless Internet throughout our facility! What a great and much needed amenity for our guests as currently the only WiFi available is the wireless signal from the convention center that can be picked up in our public areas, but doesn't reach to our guest rooms. In addition, Ownership has also given us the green light to begin installing brand new, flat screen, plasma televisions into all of our guest rooms! This is another much needed upgrade! We currently have the prototype in one of our guest rooms. It really makes the room look so much more up to date, and our guest rooms were just renovated in 2006! Our Engineering Staff will be working hard the last couple of weeks in August to install the TVs into each and every one of our 800 guest rooms. Things are really moving forward here, and it's a very exciting time!
